Bringing people together to assist the war victims of Ukraine

About us

It is really about you!  The Ukraine Collective is comprised of people around the world coming along side of us on the ground in providing housing, food, medical care, counselling, and the love of Jesus to those displaced from their homes from the war with Russia.

Our nine centers are operated by One Collective, Church of the Living God (Uzhhorod), Church of Jesus Christ, Uzhhorod Adventist Church, NGO Ruka Dopomogy, NGO Isaiah 19, Rainbow Family Home, City of Life Church, and New Hope Baptist Church.  Together we provided housing and food for 544 IDPs and refugees at the height of the crisis, but have paired down to 323 beds as we transition to more longer term care.  And we provide food, medicine, counseling, and building supplies to those who lost everything under Russian occupation.

Our Vision

Transforming the lives of people through the power of Jesus Christ

Our Mission

Bringing people together to assist the displaced people and refugees in Ukraine.

Our Value

No one is invisible and everyone has access to food, freedom, and forgiveness.

Progress

Stage One – Temporary Shelter:  We provided temporary shelter and food for those who arrived in Zakarpattia on their way to Europe for most of 2022.  Currently we are focused on Longer-Term Housing, but can still open up our temporary shelters if another wave of IDPs come through.  At our height we were 544 beds averaging 452 people each night.

Stage Two – Longer Term Housing:  More and more IDPs are staying in Ukraine and we are providing longer stay housing which provides better security and privacy for families and the ability to shower, cook food, and clean clothes.  We can build a home for a family of four for $36,000.  We currently have 122 people each night in our seven open centers.

Stage Three – Medical Aid:  As Ukrainian doctors join the diaspora in other countries, we are experiencing a lack of doctors in our city to service the growing number of IDPs that arrive every day.  We are partnering with many medical agencies in receiving medicine and medical supplies.  And our partnership with Heartbeat Mission provides international doctors who rotate in and out to man two IDP clinics in Uzhhorod.   We have also developed a partnership providing eyeglasses to those in need.

Stage Four – Transportation Services:  We have been supplied a passenger van to transport IDP families to the border to insure they arrive in safe hands and not in those who might traffick them.  And we also have been supplied a passenger/cargo van to bring food, medicine, and building supplies to those cities in Ukraine who suffered immensely under occupation of Russian forces, and to bring IDP families safely back to Uzhhorod from frontline cities still under attack.

Stage Five – Trauma Care:  As part of our growing ministry to care for longer-term IDPs, we are launching ministries to assist IDP families with trauma care.  This will involve training lay leaders in Trauma Care First Aid, Chaplainship Training, as well as providing camps for IDP children as we have done since 2014 during the first wave of IDPs.

Stage Six – Church Support:  Churches of Ukraine are hurting as up to half of their people have fled the country, and those behind have had their lives destroyed.  The local people can barely survive themselves, yet are sacrificially giving what little they have to keep their churches functioning.  We have started the Sister Church Association where churches outside of Ukraine can adopt a Ukrainian church to assist them through these hard times.  We currently have fifteen Sister Church relationships running.

Together with your help we have invested $925,195 in assisting and rebuilding the lives of Ukrainian families and refugees.  Our expenses averaged $1680 each day over the last four weeks, and our income is an average of $95 a day.  Below you can see here how your support is being used to assist IDP families and refugees.
